General Meet Information

Additional Events
If a team would like to add additional events, they can be added after the last relay as a 2nd session. These additional events are not scored and do not meet the Finals requirements for events swam at a SWSC meets. An example of additional events would be the longer events swam at Junior Olympics.

6 & U Swimmers

6 & U events are not scored, are not judged, and are strictly "exhibition".  They count towards a swimmer's 6 "splashes" required to be eligible for conference finals.

However, in order to swim at conference finals, all 6 & U swimmers must have a legal time which can only be obtained by swimming the 8 & U events which are judged for proper stroke technique.

In 6 & U events, swimmers will receive participant ribbons.

If a 6 & U swimmer is not able to swim without help, they are probably not ready to participate in the meet and should continue to practice until such a time that they can attempt to swim the length of the pool unassisted.  The lane ropes are always there, should they need to grab on to them.

Event Limits  *Conference Minimum 3 Individual & 2 Relays
Additionally, each host team can decide how many individual events, each swimmer is allowed to swim at their meet beyond the conference minimum.

Example, some teams choose to allow 5 individual events plus 2 relays, 4 individual events plus 2 relays, 3 individual events plus 2 relays. At larger meets, smaller facilities, or locations that must vacate the pool by a specific time, they may choose to do less individual events.
